FAQs

Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive & go do it because what the world needs is people who have come alive.
— Howard Thurman

How did you get into the industry?

Street photography in India while traveling for 2 years. I was teaching English in the slums outside of Delhi when I started to bring my camera with me everywhere, photographing strangers. They invited me into their homes. It was my way of connecting with others without a shared language.

First creative love?

Dancing. Writing. Painting. Poetry. Marketing…then photography.
It wasn’t until I traveled that I realized seeing life through the lens of a camera is more than just a tool - it changes how you experience this life.

First professional success?

After two nomadic years abroad, I landed in Austin with zero professional experience beyond internships—just a marketing degree, some awards, and a lot of drive. I came across a rodeo campaign for Cavender’s Boots, photographing cowboy culture.

I was wildly underqualified, but I showed up anyway—hand delivering my resume, mailing in postcards with my photos & following up relentlessly. I got the gig, my first paid photography job with travel, per diem, and all. Those images ended up winning a Gold Addy—one of the highest honors in advertising. I didn’t even know what that was at the time—I was just thrilled to call myself a photographer.

What lights you up creatively?

Nature. Travel. Passionate people & inspiring stories. Creating the story. Putting the pieces together. Crafting a mood board to paint the picture of the vision. Opportunities to use my gifts & share my vision. Teaching. Learning. Mindset work. Colors, fonts, textures, and style!

Photography style in three words?

Energetic. Cinematic. Timeless.

Creative Direction Philosophy?

Strategy + soul. Story > noise. Truth > trends.

What are your superpowers?

Seeing the big picture and the tiny details—then bringing it all together.
Genuinely enjoying life for the most part, even in the mundane minutia.
I love art & beauty, strategy & business, but more than that, I love people.
